If a student has less than 24 credit hours after high school, we recommend that they first contact your regional recruiter for advice on the best time to apply. Priority will be given to associate graduates or those with at least 48 college credits.

JMU offers admission to a very small number of students who have only one year of university courses at their previous institution. The Office of the Registrar conducts a credit assessment after an offer of admission has been submitted. Each course taken at another institution is assessed individually, and only equivalent college courses offered at JMU that score “C” or better are credited. A “C-” is not transmitted.
